Plot Summary:

Kids, don't you hate it when relatives drop by without calling first? Well, the Young Heroes are no different, when Monstergirls uncle stops by for a visit things get exciting REAL quick! He's here to test her survival skills, and he's not grading on a curve! There's big monster action as he makes with the gnashing, and the hurting and the biting, and the hurting. Can the Young Heroes stop him before he "tests" Rita into a pool of redish goo? You bet they can!

• How did the monster open up the teeth under Frostbite?

Did You Notice:

• The monster, to me, looked kind of like a cross between the thingy from the end of "Howard The Duck" and Monster Smith from "Lost In Space". Come to think of it, I saw that neck on "MIB: The Series" on a shapeshifting alien this morning and (I think) in John Carpenter's the thing. Must be some sort of design element for shapeshifters. I guess long, snakey necks are in this season.
• When the Monster flies off, (p. 20) it kind of reminds me of a picture of a critter I saw years ago in one of my friends Cthulu picture books. It was in "S.Petersen's Field Guide to the Cthulu Mythos" or something like that. It was called a Nightgaunt or something.

• " Let me answer an unanswered question! The underground "teeth" that Frostbite nearly falls into are part of the shapeshifting Harnarnar's body! Harnarnar's lower half is buried under the surface in panel 1, and he has burrowed underground to create a gaping maw to nosh on Frostbite. (I wonder if Boba Fett was down there?) Maybe a cutaway view would have made it more clear, but I don't know how I would have found the room on a very busy page."
